What do we believe? Mankind’s problem cannot be solved by political, social, economic, or environmental measures. The problem is that we have rejected God; and that makes us rebels. We need a solution that deals with our guilt and restores our relationship with God. We believe that God has provided the solution in sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to be our saviour; He is the one with the solution to this problem, and to every problem.
We believe that Jesus was the Son of God who came to live and die as a substitute for us. His death on the cross was a death in our place: his death has purchased forgiveness for everyone who puts their trust in him.
We believe that after his death and burial he was raised again to life by God’s power.
We believe that after he had appeared to his followers he ascended into Heaven where he now rules as the Lord over all things. We believe that he will return in the future to judge the world and to bring renewal.
We believe that the risen Christ has sent his Holy Spirit down to us; to give us new life, to make us holy, to transform us, and to reassure and comfort all believers.
We believe that the forgiveness offered to mankind in Jesus Christ is offered to all; men and women of every age, of every culture, and of every social situation.
From where have we come? Our church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Australia. The Presbyterian Church of Australia is the mainline Presbyterian denomination in this country that has historic continuity with the Church of Scotland and the Free Church of Scotland. Croydon Hills Presbyterian Church was planted in the early 90s by the Heathmont Presbyterian Church.
